Rubber Buckets and Mortar Tubs for Construction

Builders’ buckets, mortar tubs and mixing trays for carrying water, mortar, plaster and debris. Rubber takes being thrown on to scaffolds and trucks and springs back instead of cracking.

  • 12–20 L buckets for carrying: a 12 L BB012A weighs 2.2 kg empty and about 14 kg full of water.
  • Wide, low tubs for mixing: the BT028 holds 28 L at only 170 mm high; the BF040 holds 40 L in 680 × 500 mm.
  • Mortar and wet sand weigh more per litre than water, so choose the size by the load your workers carry.
  • Recycled tyre rubber models are a lower-cost choice for debris and general site work.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which bucket size is best for carrying mortar?

Most sites use 12–14 L buckets for carrying by hand. The BB012A weighs 2.2 kg empty and about 14 kg full of water; mortar is heavier, so a 12 L bucket is often filled only part way. Use 20 L buckets such as the BB020 (3.1 kg empty) for water and lighter loads.

Should I mix mortar in a bucket or a tub?

A wide, low tub is easier to mix and shovel from than a tall bucket. The BT028 (28 L, 540 × 400 × 170 mm) and the rectangular BF040 (40 L, 680 × 500 × 190 mm) give a large mixing surface and stay stable on the ground.
