The same volume can be held in a tall bucket, a wide pan or a long tub, and the shape decides how the container works. We make five product families, and choosing between them is mostly a question of height, handles and how the contents are used. This guide compares them with figures from our catalogue.

Buckets: carrying
A bucket is tall and narrow, so it holds a lot for its footprint and is easy to carry with one hand. It is the right shape for water and loose materials. It is harder to scoop from and to mix in. The 12 L BB012A and 20 L BB020 are the typical carrying sizes.
Pans and tubs: mixing and scooping
Pans and tubs are low and wide. Shovels, trowels and hands reach everywhere, and the contents are easy to mix. The 28 L BT028 is 540 mm long and only 170 mm high, which makes it a mixing tub for mortar and compost.
Rectangular tubs: storing
Rectangular tubs use shelf and vehicle space well. At a height of 75–240 mm they stack neatly and work for storage of parts and tools. The 20 L BF020 measures 540 × 400 × 170 mm.
Oval tubs: large volumes
For volumes above 56 L the choice is the oval tub range, 58–432 L. They are used for water, feed and bulk mixing; see large oval tubs.
Same 20 litres, different containers
If you need 20 litres you have several choices:
- BB020 bucket, 385 × 265 × 290 mm, 3.1 kg;
- BP020 pan, 456 × 310 × 203 mm, 2.5 kg;
- BF020 rectangular tub, 540 × 400 × 170 mm, 3.0 kg.
