A base keeps a post, queue stanchion or cone upright and in place. Choosing the wrong one means posts that tip over or bases that are too heavy to move. This guide lists what to consider and what to send a manufacturer so that the base you receive fits your post and your use.
What our rubber bases are made of
Our rubber bases are made from heat-resistant, low-odour rubber and can be used indoors and outdoors, including in low temperatures. We have 12 standard designs: 11 in rubber and one, GH-H03, in PE. Sizes, weights, materials and rubber formulas can be made to your requirements.
Four things that decide the right base
1. Where it will be used
Indoor use, such as queue management in a building, has different needs from an outdoor car park, a road works area or a warehouse floor. Tell the manufacturer whether the base will sit on smooth tiles, concrete, asphalt or grass, and whether it will be outdoors all year.
2. How the post fits the base
The base must match the post: its diameter, whether it sits in a socket or is fixed another way, and how deep it goes. Send a photo, a drawing or a sample of the post. A base that looks right but does not fit the post causes avoidable delays and returns.
3. How much weight it needs
A heavier base resists tipping and wind, but is harder to carry and move. A light base is easy to reposition but may need more help to stay upright. Think about how often the posts are moved, how tall they are and how much wind or contact they will see.
4. Material
Rubber bases are generally chosen when grip on the floor and a soft surface matter. A PE base is one alternative for applications where a rigid plastic is acceptable. If you are not sure, tell us the application and we will recommend one of our designs.
Standard designs
These are some of our standard rubber bases. Dimensions and weights for each design are available on request; send us the model number and we will confirm them in the quotation.

What to send when you ask for a quote
- The model number of the base you are interested in, or a photo, drawing or sample.
- The post or pole diameter and how it is fixed to the base.
- Indoor or outdoor use, and the surface the base will stand on.
- The weight you need, if you have a target.
- Quantity and destination port.
Send these through the quote form and we will reply with a quotation.
